The No. 2 ranked University of Connecticut Huskies (26-2, 14-2 BIG EAST) basketball team welcomes unranked Notre Dame (16-11, 7-8) into Gampel Pavillion in Storrs, Conn., for a BIG EAST battle that will be broadcast nationally on CBS with a 2 p.m. ET tip-off.
Sports odds professionals at online sports book BetUS.com list Connecticut as 11 1/2-point favorites over Notre Dame with a 150 total. The Huskies are also -750 favorites on the BetUS moneyline. Irish backers are getting +550 moneyline odds as a road underdog.
The contest, the Huskies final home game of the season, will mark the second meeting between the two teams this season. The Huskies earned a 69-61 victory at the Joyce Center at South Bend on Jan. 24. The win snapped Notre Dame's 45-game win home streak that included a 20-game win streak against BIG EAST foes.
Connecticut leads the all-time series 14-6 and has won four of the last five meetings. All 20 of the matchups have taken place as BIG EAST foes. Notre Dame's last win in the series came at South Bend last season.
Notre Dame's 103-84 victory last Saturday against Providence was just the second for the Irish on the road in BIG EAST games and third overall in true road contests. After defeating DePaul (92-82) on the road in its conference opener, the Irish had lost six straight league road games and suffered seven consecutive losses away from home.
Connecticut is coming off an impressive road victory defeating Marquette as a single-digit underdog 93-82 on Feb 25.
