Since defeating the Bears 78-72 at the Ferrell Center on Jan. 27, Texas is 4-5 in its last nine games, including a 3-2 record at the Erwin Center.
The Longhorns will be looking to rebound after losing 68-59 to Oklahoma State on the road at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater. The Cowboys held the Longhorns to 18 first-half points en route to a 12-point halftime lead. However, OSU held off Texas’ second-half rally to take the nine-point win. Damion James led all Texas scorers with 18 points and 18 rebounds, while A.J. Abrams was held to nine points on 3-of-15 shooting. Dexter Pittman and Harrison Smith each added 12 points.
Abrams leads the Longhorns with 17.0 points through 28 games, while shooting 39.5 percent (87-of-220) from 3-point range. James is second on the team with 15.8 points along with a team-high 9.4 rebounds. Gary Johnson is the only Longhorn averaging double figures with 11.3 points.
Baylor is coming off a 75-57 home victory over Colorado last Saturday. Curtis Jerrells scored 24 of his game-high 29 points in the second half to pace the Bears. Trailing 52-50 with 8:30 remaining in the second half, Baylor closed the game on a 25-5 run and held Colorado without a field goal during that stretch.
