NBA Picks: Wizards vs Celtics NBA Odds – March 7, 2010: The (39-21) Boston Celtics [-12] will look to get their newest addition going as they host the lowly, sports betting odds underdog (21-38) Washington Wizards [+12] tonight on ESPN. Michael Finley’s debut in Celtic green is scheduled to tipoff at 8:10 PM ET (7:10 PM PT) live from the TD Garden, Boston, MA. Boston comes in winners of three in a row and trying to extend a 7 game lead on Toronto in the Atlantic Division.
For the Wizards, they’ve already began looking into the NBA Draft, as they sit in the cellar of the Southeast and have lost two in a row. According to NBA Odds makers at SPORTSBETTING.com, the OVER/UNDER between the Wizards and Celtics is set at a combined total of 193½ points.
The Celtics seemed to have turned things around since dropping a woeful decision to the New Jersey Nets last Saturday. A favorable schedule hasn’t hurt Boston’s chances, as it comes off wins over Detroit, Charlotte and Philadelphia.
“We're a veteran team, we know how to play,” Kevin Garnett said. "It's just (about) when we want to put our heads together, go out and execute and do the things we have worked on."
The addition of Finley will give this team another veteran presence off the bench. The 37-year-old, 15-year NBA vet is expected to play backup to Paul Pierce in the scheme of things. The 2-time All-Star might also play small forward from time-to-time behind Marquis Daniels.
“I think he has basketball left in him,” Doc Rivers said of Finley. “We don't know where we're going to fit him in, but adding a veteran can never hurt.”
