The Nets will enter Dallas looking for more then a win on Saturday due to the highly publicized break up between Nets management and former Net/ current Maverick point guard Jason Kidd. Although the Nets are in the middle of a tough Western Conference road trip, expect them to come out fired up as everyone from Vince Carter to Trenton Hassell will be going all out to show up Jason Kidd. BetUS.com has the Dallas Maveriks as -13.5 point NBA betting favorites. Devon Harris has done a pretty good job running the Nets offense so far averaging 18.8 points and 5.5 assists per game. Harris’ running mates Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson have averaged 20.6 and 23 points respectively as they hope to power New Jersey to the post season.
Dallas has been surprisingly struggling since the Jason Kidd trade but still appears to be a lock for the post season. Dirk Nowitzki has been having a good season and Josh Howard continues to be one of the fastest rising stars in the NBA. Oh and how can I forget, Jason Kidd has played up to par as well but some how Dallas is 4-5 while he is in uniform and that simply does not cut it. BetUS.com has the TOTAL at 197 points for New Jersey Nets vs Dallas Mavericks. If Dallas hopes to keep pace in the west, they need to beat what should be an inspired Nets team tonight.
