This game is the third in a tough five-game stretch for the Spurs, who lost at Phoenix on Sunday, while playing Denver twice, New Orleans and Detroit. The veteran Spurs are starting to hit their stride just in time for the postseason, but some are wondering if Tim Duncan is starting to run out of steam.
 Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are doing a great job at steering the Spurs' offense, but Duncan seems to be unwilling to take over games anymore. Of course, that will probably all change come playoff time. The Hornets have won three of their last four coming into this game, falling only to the red-hot Houston Rockets on the road.
After a slight drop-off following the All-Star break, the young Hornets have gotten their legs again, scoring over 100 points in five of their last seven games, all victories. With Chris Paul leading the fast break, the Hornets are very difficult to guard as he can find the open man as well as finish. The Spurs have won four of their last five against the Hornets, including two of three this season.
