The Atlantic Coast Conference gets its mens college basketball tournament underway with four first-round games scheduled for Thursday from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. Beginning at Noon ET. No. 1 and 2-seeds North Carolina and Duke have a bye until the second round on Friday.
The Hokies of Virginia Tech and Miami Hurricanes get things started in the opener. Sports odds professionals at Sportsbook.com list Miami as 3-point favorites over the Hokies. While total and moneyline odds are not currently available, Las Vegas Sports Consultants recommend a 137 total.
Georgia Tech and Clemson follow the opener at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET. In that game, Sportsbook.com oddsmakers have installed the Tigers as 9.5-point favorites ATS. LSVS expect the betting total to be around 147.
The first game of the evening set has the Maryland Terrapins taking on the North Carolina State Wolfpack at 7:05 p.m. Maryland is a slight 1.5-point favorite on the Sportsbook.com betting board. LSVC expects the total to open at 142.
Boston College and Virginia will get things going around 9:30 following the Terps-Wolfpack battle. The Eagles are installed as 4.5-chalk favorites over the Cavaliers. LSVC has its total at 142.
The game between Maryland and NC State will be the only game televised nationally on ESPN2. The other games will be carried by Raycom.
