2012 NCAA Bracket Predictions West Region

Michigan State No. 1 Seed in NCAA West Regionals2012 NCAA Bracket Predictions West Region: The Michigan State University Spartans men’s basketball team has been awarded the No. 1 seed in the West Region of the 2012 Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.  The Spartans (27-7) earned the West top seed  Sunday when the bracket for the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship was revealed. MSU was awarded the top seed after defeating Ohio State in the Big Ten Basketball Tournament on Sunday. The Spartans will now face the 16th seed Long Island University Blackbirds in the second round at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio Friday, March 16.

The winner of the game between MSU and LIU, will advance to play the winner of No. 8 Memphis University Tigers and No. 9 Saint Louis University Billikens. Odds makers at online sports book TopBet.com list Michigan State as +200 College Basketball Odds favorites to win the East Bracket.  Early betting lines at most off shore sports shops list the Spartans as 19 1/2-chalk favorites versus the Blackbirds. The Missouri Tigers, get the pleasure of exiting the Big 12 for the SEC after winning the leagues Men’s Basketball Tournament in Kansas City on Sunday by beating Baylor in the final. The Tigers now head to the 2012 NCAA Tournament as a No. 2 seed in the West Regional. Mizzou (30-4) will face No. 15 seed Norfolk State this Friday, March 16, in Omaha, Neb. Tipoff time for the game at CenturyLink Center Omaha will be at 4:40 p.m. ET. Assuming the Tigers defeat Norfolk State, they will advance to the third round to play the winner of No. 7 Florida vs. No. 10 Virginia game. Big East member Marquette (25-7) draws the No. 3 seed in the West and will play the winner of the BYU/Iona first round game on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. ET in Louisville. BYU is listed as a slight 2-chalk favorite in their first round match-up with Iona. The winner of the Marquette vs. BYU/Iona game will advance the third round to play the No. 6 Murray State/No. 11 Colorado State winner. The Racers are currently listed as 3 1/2-point favorites versus the Rams.

No. 4 seed Louisville will face No. 13 Davidson in the West Region second round on Thursday at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. The Cardinals, listed favorites by -7 1/2 points, will tip off at 13:40 p.m. The winner will advance to play the winner of the game between No. 5 New Mexico and No. 12 Long Beach State. That game tips Thursday at 4:10 p.m., also at the Rose Garden. The Lobo’s are lined 4 1/2-chalk favorites versus the Forty-Niners.

East Regional Predictions: Missouri is my pick , at +250  odds,to upset Michigan State in the West. The Spartans are the favorites listed at -200.
