The Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Portland Trailblazers. BetOnline.com has the Portland Trailblazers -9 point favorites against the Minnesota Timberwolves with the over/under set at 191 points.
Minnesota's rebuilding season continues. The Timberwolves have lost seven of their last 10 games, including Tuesday's 103-96 defeat to Portland. The team has some pieces in place for the future, though, most notably Al Jefferson. The fourth-year forward is averaging 21.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, both career highs. Jefferson might be showing some signs of fatigue, though, in his first season as the focal point of an offense. Although his scoring average hasn't dipped, his shooting percentage in March is the lowest it has been all season.
The Trailblazers are fighting for their playoff lives, but they aren't doing a great job of it. Portland is 5-5 in its past 10 games, although it did win three of its past four games – all on the road – including Tuesday's win over Minnesota. The team faces an uphill battle to qualify for the postseason, as Portland is seven games back of Warriors, who currently hold the final seed. Brandon Roy's breakout season has continued, and the guard is averaging 23.3 points, 5.3 assists and 5.2 assists per game in his past six games. Portland will need him to continue that pace – or even surpass it – if it has any shot at making the playoffs.
Portland has owned Minnesota this season, leading the season series 3-0. The Trailblazers are desperate and they'll beat up on the Timberwolves again. Get your Free NBA Pick in Now!
