Memphis Grizzlies vs New York Knicks NBA Basketball Odds: The (34-32) New York Knicks [-4½] will hope to put an end to a three game losing streak when they host the NBA Odds underdog (37-31) Memphis Grizzlies [+4½] on Thursday night from Madison Square Garden starting at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM PT).
These two teams will be going up against each other for the second time since just a week ago, when the Knicks defeated the Grizzlies 110-108. Last Wednesday the NBA Predictions underdog Grizzlies were at home, and Carmelo Anthony was able to make a 19-foot jump shot with just 0.5 seconds to win the game for New York.
Anthony had a total of 31 points that night, but the Knicks have struggled defensively since that win. But with Carmelo’s help as well as Amare Stoudemire, the NBA Picks favorite Knicks may be able to pull off the win once again. Stoudemire had 26 points last Wednesday, and is averaging 29.2 points in his last seven games.
Chauncey Billups is expected to play this time around, as he was out last week due to a bruised left thigh. New York is working towards staying in the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, but also fighting for that spot are the Philadelphia 76ers. And although the Grizzlies hold a better record than the Knicks, they are sitting at the eighth spot in the West.
Memphis must try to push through and fight off the Suns, Jazz, and the Rockets. The Grizzlies are coming off a much-needed win on Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers, with a 105-82 victory. The Grizzlies were able to stop a third loss and coach Lionel Hollins was proud of his team.
“As you’re battling down the stretch here, you don’t want four- or five-game losing streaks,” Hollins said after the game. “I thought our defense was solid in the early part of the game.”
