Breaking news have began surfacing the airwaves, that the school recently announced that UConn head coach Jim Calhoun will not be on the sideline for the Huskies' NCAA Tournament first-round game. It has also been announced that associate coach George Blaney will take over head-coaching duties in Calhoun's absence on Thursday.
"Coach Calhoun has not been feeling well for the past several days and it is best that he not coach the team today for precautionary reasons," UConn director of sports medicine Dr. Jeff Anderson said. The school has yet to divulge what was wrong with coach Calhoun. The OVER/UNER for this, Chattanooga vs. Connecticut NCAA Tournament Predictions, has been tallied at a combined 145 points on the board.
According to UConn spokesperson Kyle Muncy, Calhoun hadn't been feeling well as of late. Calhoun, who had his second battle with cancer this past summer by receiving treatment for skin cancer, has showed no signs of any issues throughout the course of the regular season. UConn would not speculate on how long coach Calhoun would be out.
