March Madness Betting: NCAA Tournament East Regional BreakdownHow often does this happen? When the four top seeded teams make it to a regional semi-final? So is the case in the NCAA Tournament East Region with No. 1 seed North Carolina playing 4-seed Washington State in the 7:30 p.m. ET game and No 2 Tennessee taking on No. 3 Louisville in the night cap; start time around 10 p.m.

North Carolina is the favorite in its game with Washington State by a 9-point chalk with a 141 ½ total. Oddsmakers at BetUS.com give Louisville a 3-point edge over Tennessee with a 146 total.

The Tar Heels made it to the Eastern semi-finals by waltzing through Mount St. Mary’s 113-74 and No. 9 Arkansas in the second round 107-77. In both games, the Tar Heels easily covered the betting line both times; as at -26 vs. Mount St. Mary’s and -10 vs. Arkansas. The OVER cashed in total’s wagering in both first and second round games.

Like North Carolina, Washington State had little trouble dispatching its opponents in the first and second rounds. The Cougars defeated 13-seed Winthrop 71-40 covering the 9 ½ point chalk and topped Notre Dame 71-40 and covering as a 2 ½ point favorite. The UNDER slipped below the posted total in both games.

Tennessee was not firing on all cylinders in either of its first round games but managed a win in both cases. Installed as 20-point favorites in the first round game with American University, the Volunteers struggled through most of the game before pulling away at the end for a 72-57 win. It should be noted that the game was closer than the score indicated.

The Vols played much better in the second round against a much tougher opponent, the Butler Bulldogs. Tennessee edged butler 76-71, just getting by the 5-point chalk. The total split in the pair going UNDER the posted total with American and OVER in their game with Butler.
