The Boston Celtics play host to the New Orleans Hornets tonight. BetOnline.com has the Boston Celtics –7.5 point favorites against the New Orleans Hornets with the over/under set at 197 points.
Boston was shocked by Philadelphia on Monday, giving the Celtics their second loss in three days. The mini-skid follows a four-game winning streak and Boston and been playing very well before that (14 wins in 15 games before the losing streak). The Celtics need to get back to the basics and play good defense; they've allowed 104.0 points per game in their last two losses, well above their season average of 90.4. Friday's defeat to the 76ers was just Boston's sixth home loss of the year.
Heading into Wednesday's action, New Orleans had won four straight. The Hornets followed up Saturday's win over Boston with a 114-106 victory in Indiana. That win ran New Orleans' record to 9-3 this month. Chris Paul has been his usual brilliant self in that stretch, averaging 25.3 points and 12.8 assists in that span. Paul dropped 31 points and 14 assists on the Pacers in Tuesday's win. The Hornets are currently battling the Lakers – and numerous other teams – for first-place overall in the Western Conference.
The Hornets got the better of Boston in Saturday's win, but the Celtics rarely drop one at home. It's hard to believe they'll lose there twice in a matter of days. Get your Free NBA Pick in Now!
