Although much of the basketball world is currently focused on the NCAA’s “March Madness”, the NBA still has something to offer fans and bettors with six games on the schedule for Saturday including when the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors engage in a shootout for the eighth spot in the West. Those who prefer a slow, plodding style of play should probably stay away from this game, as the Warriors and Nuggets play at a frantic pace with little attention paid to defense. What makes this game interesting is that the Warriors hold a slim half-game lead over the Nuggets for the final spot in the West as of Thursday, so there is a lot on the line.
 Both teams have high-scoring duos who are considered the leaders of their team, like Golden State’s Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson, along with Denver counterparts Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony. But the key in this game could be secondary players such as the Warriors’ Monta Ellis, who would probably start if he was on another team that did not have so many perimeter players, and the Nuggets’ J.R. Smith, who is incredibly talented but inconsistent. Another factor could be Denver’s Marcus Camby, who is the best post defender on either team and arguably the entire league.
The Nuggets have won three of their last five against the Warriors, with the road team coming away victorious in each of this season’s two games. Expect the Warriors to continue that trend in what should be an exciting and high-scoring tilt. Get your Free NBA Pick in Now!
