The 2008 Final Four is ready to tip off in San Antonio on Saturday, with the UCLA Bruins and Memphis Tigers squaring off in the first match-up of the day, with the winner heading to Monday's NCAA Basketball National championship game. BetOnline.com has the Memphis Tigers –2 point favorites against the UCLA Bruins with the winner playing in the 2008 Final Four NCAA Basketball National Championship Game on Monday night.
The Bruins rode the size and skill of All-American center Kevin Love through the West Region, as the freshman has put up 21.8 points and 11 rebounds throughout the tournament. There are not many players in the country that contain Love, and he has also improved his defensive intensity as the season has progressed.
If this is to be Love's only year on campus before bolting to the NBA, he has left his mark on a school that has been littered with great players in the past. The Tigers will counter with their own frosh sensation in guard Derrick Rose, who has taken his game to another level in the Tournament. Rose has racked up 20.5 points, six rebounds and six assists in Memphis' first four games, and more importantly, he has only turned the ball over five times, which is outstanding for a point guard. While All-American Chris Douglas-Roberts is known as the leader and Joey Dorsey is the muscle, Rose is the one who makes the Tigers go.
These two have split their only two meetings, but UCLA dumped the Tigers in the Elite Eight in 2006, which Douglas-Roberts and Dorsey were around for. Expect the Tigers to pounce early as they avenge that loss and come away with a valuable victory as 2-point favorites. Get your Free Final Four Pick in Now!
