Welcome to the NBA playoffs! The defending champion San Antonio Spurs will begin their quest to repeat as kings of the league by playing a team that has for years given them trouble in Phoenix. The San Antonio Spurs are -4 point NBA betting favorites in Phoenix Suns vs San Antonio Spurs.
Phoenix pushed the Spurs six games last year as well as six games in 2003 when Stephon Marbury hit a half court runner to win he series opener. Phoenix now is lead by a much better point guard in Steve Nash and of course has dominant big man Amare Stoudemire as well as aged, and faded Shaquille  O’Neal, who can still make a difference in the post season. Phoenix also has Grant Hill, who will bring them great veteran leadership as well as defensive stopper Raja Bell and bench spark plug Leandro Barbosa.
San Antonio ended the season with a bang by blowing out Utah and finishing with the #3 seed in the West. A healthy Manu Ginobili will be a key as the rest of the Spurs core (outside of Tony Parker) continues to age. With that said, Tim Duncan’s stats of 19.3 points 11.3 rebounds 1.9 blocks and 2.8 assists are impressive for a guy who is going toward the “down side” of his career. Phoenix has always given the Spurs problems in their playoff series especially early so the Spurs need to take game 1.
