Oklahoma City Thunder vs LA Lakers Game 2 NBA Playoffs 2010 Picks & Predictions: The defending NBA champion (1-0) Los Angeles Lakers [-6] got their title-defense to an ugly start, defeating a resilient (0-1) Oklahoma City Thunder [+6], team that simply couldn’t stop coming in Game 1. Game 2 of this NBA Playoffs 2010 Picks & Predictions tips off tonight from the STAPLES Center in Downtown LA, beginning at 10:40 PM ET (7:40 PM PT) live on TNT Sports. The OVER/UNDER for Game 2 is set at a total of 192 points scored.
Despite their superstar and reigning NBA scoring champion, Kevin Durant having a sub-par performance — due
in part to Ron Artest’s suffocating defense — Oklahoma City still had a chance to steal game 1 on the road. "It was a tough one for us tonight," Durant said. "I had some good looks. Some great looks. I wasn't able to make them. That's discouraging."
With Artest shadowing his every more, Durant was forced to take 24 shots, 7 only which went in, in order to get his 24 points. "When I was in my prime, I wasn't in the playoffs that deep," Artest said. "That's part of the reason why I lost weight so I can show people how I was when they didn't get to see me and how I played defense. No not at all (playing like I was in my prime). I think I have a chance to get better."
For the Lakers, they got some great contribution from center Andrew Bynum, who came back from an Achillies injury to register a double-double (13 points and 12 rebounds). “He looked comfortable. He looked strong. He looked explosive,” Lakers guard Derek Fisher said of his big man. “He was decisive with his movements and he didn't look afraid to load up the Achilles and push himself… he's going to be a guy teams are going to have difficulty holding him down.”
Bynum also dished out some very physical play, especially against Jeff Green, who tripped the 7-footer without getting a call. On his way back to the defensive end, Bynum gave Green a little love tap to send a message to the Thunder.
"I wasn't going to just let that happen without retaliating," Bynum said in his post-game conference. "That's just part of being aggressive and letting people know and having a presence out there."
