First and foremost, Detroit Pistons’ PG Chauncey Billups is expected to play in Tuesday’s series opener at the Boston Garden. This is the best time of the year for betting odds in the NBA. This is the time, when the real playoffs officially begin. Game 1 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals is scheduled for tonight starting at 8:30 pm EST, immediately after the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery Special on ESPN. Sportsbetting.com has the Boston Celtics a –4 ½ NBA betting odds favorites when they host the Detroit Pistons and the Over/Under has been set at 174 combined total points. It has finally been decided; who are the best of the best, in what has been a very exciting NBA season for all bettors and professional basketball aficionados. This, is the NBA’s version of the Final Four, and what a great one it is. It is very fair to say that after weeks of competition, the absolute 4 best teams remain. We will start on the East, where the favorites Celtics find themselves in pretty good position at the start of these conference finals. Boston has had a very difficult time on the road, in these playoffs. As a matter of fact, out of the four remaining teams (Lakers, Spurs, Pistons, and Celtics) they are the only ones yet to win a single road game. And this is because of inexperience. Yes, they’ve had their share of success in the playoffs; but only individually, never as a team. I believe this is the main reason why they cannot win on the road; they just don’t have any kind of identity away from home. And this is because, until now, is when they are starting to get to know each other (as teammates) away from home. For Detroit, they don’t have much to worry about for game 1. It appears their all-star PG (and leader) will be ready to go tonight in game 1. Consequently, make a note of this: the Boston Celtic’s downfall in this series will be at the PG position. They are way too thin and inexperienced at the 1. Consequently, they will be exposed (in every possible way) and in-turn, will not be able to contain a veteran-poised “Mr. Big Shot”. Chauncey Billups is my X-Factor in these series.
