The Los Angeles Lakers were very hesitant in Game 3 after winning the first two games of their Western Conference final series with the San Antonio Spurs, and it was another prime example of the power of homecourt advantage in the NBA playoffs. The Lakers will have a chance to redeem themselves when the two clash at the AT&T Center for Game 4 on Tuesday night at 9 PM ET. The NBA betting odds for the Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs game is -4 points at relaible internet sportsbook Betonline.com. Lamar Odom has come out in the media to publically take the blame for the Lakers' 103-84 loss in G ame 3, and for good reason as he never got his shooting stroke going. Odom grabbed 11 boards and dished out six assists, but he was a brutal 2-for-11 from the floor and that sort of performance is not going to sit well this late into the postseason. Kobe Bryant did his part with 30 points, but he went to the foul line only once in the game, and he missed that attempt. By turning the NBA MVP into a jump shooter, it took away a lot of opportunities from the role players that generally feed off Bryant's ability to penetrate. The OVER\UNDER NBA betting odds for the Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs game is 192 TOTAL points.
The Spurs nailed ten three-pointers, led by Manu Ginobili's 5-for-7 performance. The NBA's Sixth Man of the Year had 30 points in the win, and Ginobili's renaissance after starting the series poorly in Los Angeles was a major factor in the Spurs' win. Ginobili is arguably the Spurs' most gifted player, and he brings excitement and unpredictability to the San Antonio offense. Tim Duncan dominated on the inside with 22 points and 21 boards for the Spurs.
San Antonio are 4-point favorites at home to tie the series at two games apiece, and the Spurs will try to utilize the same gameplan as Game 3, which is to let Bryant get his points and contain the rest of the Lakers. Odom, in particular, has to improve for the Lakers, as his versatile skills make him a match-up problem for the Spurs. Odom now seems to realize how big the playoffs are, so look for a much-better showing as the Lakers will surprise the Spurs with an upset on the road and take a 3-1 series lead on Tuesday.
