Orlando Magic vs Boston Celtics Game 6 NBA Playoffs 2010 Picks & Predictions: Game 5 of this year’s Eastern Conference Final between the (2-3) Orlando Magic [+3½] and the (3-2) Boston Celtics [-3½] had more knockouts than an MMA fight card. Putting on a physical and emotional beating on the Celtics, the Magic have bullied their way back into this best-of-seven series as the C’s lead has been trimmed down to one game. Nevertheless, two wins separate the Magic from becoming the first NBA ever to really back from being down 0-3 to win a Playoff series.
Game 6 is going to be a dandy, as the TD Garden will be the sight tonight at 8:30 PM ET (7:30 PMM CT/5:30 PM PT) on ESPN. According to NBA Playoffs 2010 Picks & Predictions experts, the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics have been projected to combine and score a total of 189 points in tonight’s OVER/UNDER.
For the Celtics, upon further review, the NBA decided to overturn Kendrick Perkins' technical foul, which in turn enables him to play in this all-important Game 6. It seems that after taking all the momentum in this series by winning the first three games, the Celtics have given it right back with consecutive losses.
“We know what we haven't done, and what we need to do,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “I think we'll be ready to do it tomorrow night. Our mentality is: We just have to lace them up and go play. We have a lot of bumps and bruises right now, but we'll be OK.”Nevertheless, Boston isn’t about to panic, even with the memory of the Bruins fallout fresh in the minds’ of all Bostonians. “I would doubt that players would get affected by what happened in another sport,'' Van Gundy said. “I would have a hard time believing that. I don't think most of our guys on any of our teams follow hockey very much.''
For Orlando, coming back down from 0-3 to reach the NBA Finals for back-to-back years against a championship contender like the Celtics would really be considered Magical. “I didn't like being in a 3-0 hole, but it's still doable. I don't think we've had a lack of belief,” Stan Van Gundy said. “We can't go back and get those first three. … I don't know why we didn't get at it, I don't know why we didn't play with the same type of energy in the first three games. I really do not know.”
But before any of that becomes even relevant, Van Gundy and his team need to go into a hostile environment and beat Bean Town for the second time in three games, to force a decisive Game 7 in Florida. “It's another closeout game on their home court,” Rashard Lewis said. “I think the game on Friday will most definitely be the hardest game of the playoffs that we've ever faced. They're a veteran team. They'll come out with a lot of energy and a lot of heart, and I'm sure they're not going to want to come back to Orlando.”
