2010 NBA Picks: Lakers vs Suns NBA Odds – October 29, 2010: The Stoudemire-less Phoenix Suns [+6] will host the Los Angeles Lakers [-6] on Friday night live from the US Airways Center starting at 10:30 PM ET. The last time these two teams met was for the Western Conference finals last season, when LA defeated the Suns in six games in order to advance to the NBA finals for the third consecutive year.
This time around Phoenix will have to try and make it work with Amare Stoudemire. Friday night will be the Suns 
home-opener, and first game without their longtime power forward, and they will have to go up against the likes of Kobe Bryant.
In the Western Conference finals, Kobe averaged 33.7 points and 8.3 assists. When asked about how he feels about the Suns losing such a key player, Bryant did not show much pity.
“We beat them in the playoffs last year,” said Bryant. “They used to kick our butt all the time in the playoffs. So I have no sympathy.”
Withouth Stoudemire’s average of 23.1 points per game, the Suns know they have to balance things out among other key players. Phoenix proved that they were able to pull it off without him on Thursday’s game against the Utah Jazz, when Steve Nash and Hakim Warrick scored 18 points each. Seven other Suns players worked their way into the double figures, to earn the 110-94.
“It was undoubtedly an important game for us tonight,” Nash said. “We learned our lesson and held our composure for longer stretches and, in particular, we held it together at the end of the game.”
As for the Lakers, they started off the season with a big rally win against Houston on Tuesday. Spaniard Pau Gasol had 29 points and 11 rebounds and Bryant scored 27 to help their team win 112-110.
