He came out real confident.”

For the Golden Bears, they too opened with huge victories in their first two games. After winning a close 75-70 contest against Murray St. on Monday (Nov. 9) Cal picked it up, shooting 55% in a 95-61 victory against the Detroit Titans. “It’s early in the season, but I don’t know if we played anybody of this quality in back-to-back games in the preseason last year,” Cal coach Mike Montgomery said. “There’s a lot of real pluses with this game. I think for us, the ability to compete with these people 3,000 miles from home is going to be important.”
