Two of the hottest teams in the league will hookup on the hardwood tonight as the Miami Heat play host to the Dallas Mavericks. This evening's game is scheduled to get underway at 7:30pm ET at the AmericanAirlines Arena; it will be broadcast live on NBA TV. The Mavericks ran their record to 21-5 on 
Friday evening with a 106-91 drubbing of Phoenix at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The high scoring Suns hit just 35 of their 89 field goal attempts (39.3 percent), including 5-of-21 effort from beyond the arc. Dallas, meanwhile, shot 45 percent from the floor as four players reached double figures in scoring. Leading the way were Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, who combined for 36 points, eight assists, and 10 rebounds.
Dallas, which wrapped up a six game home stand with its defeat of the Suns, has won 14 of its last 15 games, but, amazingly, still trails the Spurs by two games in the Southwest standings. The Mavericks are 8-1 on the road this season with their only away loss coming on November 17th against the Hornets.
Miami won its 12th straight game over the weekend, narrowly beating the Wizards 95-94 on Saturday in the nation's capital. The sloppy showing came on the heels of a 113-91 Friday evening blowout of the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. LeBron James, who led the Heat with 32 points in the win over the Wizards, posted the 30th triple-double of his career in Miami's win at New York, scoring 32 points while dishing out 10 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Miami, at 21-8, owns the top spot in the Southeast Division, where it is 3.5 games ahead of the second place Magic. The Heat are 12-3 at the AmericanAirlines Arena coming into tonight's contest; their last home loss came against the Pacers on November 22nd (93-77). The last team to beat Miami was the Mavericks, which prevailed 106-95 over James and company in Dallas almost three weeks ago.
