The Los Angeles Lakers will look to avoid a letdown in Game #2 on Wednesday as they host the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers had little trouble in game one and are wary of the Nuggets coming out hard in game two. “The pressure’s still on us. We still have the pressure to win on our home court, play as hard as we did before.” Lakers’ head coach Phil Jackson said, “It’s very difficult for a team to come back with the same intensity.” SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Lakers at Home. NBA Betting Preview Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers (Lakers lead 1-0) Wednesday, 10:35 pm Eastern – TNT
SBG Global Opening Line: Lakers -7.5, Total 229 The Lakers were led in game one by Pau Gasol who had 36 points and 16 rebounds. Gasol does not expect things to be as easy in game #2. “When Marcus left me, most of the time they didn’t cut off that second man. That second man helper didn’t get there on those rotations to me. I guess they will try to allow us to shoot more from the outside and not get in the lane as easy as we did. You’d rather give up open long shots than layups and dunks.” The total on game #2 is almost five points higher than in game number one since the teams combined to score 242 points on Sunday.
SBG Global Current Line: Lakers -8, Total 229 Here are the NBA betting stats for Wednesday’s game. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Wednesday games. The Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 playoff games as an underdog. The Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Nuggets are 1-8 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Los Angeles. The Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. The Lakers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite. The Lakers are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 playoff games as a favorite. The home team is 13-5 ATS in the last 18 meetings between the two teams. The Under is 5-1 in the Nuggets last 6 overall. The Under is 13-3 in the Nuggets last 16 playoff games as an underdog. The Under is 16-5 in the Nuggets last 21 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Over is 4-1 in the Lakers last 5 games as a home favorite. The Under is 6-2 in the Lakers last 8 Wednesday games. No one said it was going to be easy even though the Detroit Pistons must have thought so when they were paired with the Philadelphia 76’ers with home court advantage for the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs. Now down 0-1 in the best of seven series, the Pistons should have the Sixers in their crosshairs for Wednesday’s game-two of the series from the Palace at Auburn Hills. It seems the oddsmakers at online sportsbook SportsBetting.com have the Sixers in their crosshairs as well having installed the home Pistons as favorite by a 10-point chalk ATS with a -600 money line price. The total opened at 178. The Pistons failed to win game-one both SU and ATS by going down at home 86-90 on April 23. The Pistons entered that game as 10-point chalk favorites. The 176 points scored fell under the 179 point total. Early betting trends show 57 percent of gamblers taking the Pistons ATS while 53 percent like Detroit on the ML. The total is expected to exceed the 178 total according to 76 percent of wagers placed. The fans in Detroit are stirred up after their team dropping the first game. “The mood is upset and, probably more than anything else, anxious,” Pistons coach Flip Saunders said. “We probably wish, for one of the first times, we had back to backs in the playoffs. From my standpoint, I kind of like (two days off). It’s kind of like sometimes people hold horses out and not let them run as much so that when they do run, they’re ready to go. We’ll be a little more anxious come Wednesday.” “Everybody, after they lose, the competitive juices start flowing,” Pistons guard Chauncey Billups said, “and you want to play as soon as possible. But it’s given us a chance to step back and look at the tape.” Look for the Pistons to pull this one out at Auburn Hills tonight in a SU win. However, betting the Sixers -10 ATS looks like a good value. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 177 | E-mail | Read more... |

After a dominating game 1 performance by the Los Angeles Lakers in this opening round of the Western Conference Playoffs, George Carl and the Denver Nuggets will try to steal home court advantage with a win Wednesday night at the Staples Center in LA. But in order to pull off such upset, they’ll have to make some serious adjustments, especially on the defensive end. SBGglobal has the Los Angeles Lakers -7.5 favorites at home against the Denver Nuggets and the O/U set at 229 total pts. Pau Gasol had never won a game in the postseason, going into Sunday afternoon; he was 0-12 for his career in the playoffs (with the Grizzlies). However in his debut in Tensile Town, no one could outshine the great Spaniard. He conclusively quieted all the critics that said he couldn’t perform at a high level in a playoff game. Gasol had a career-high 36 points in 14-for-20 (70%) shooting, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. The Olympic gold medallist also pulled down 16 rebounds, dished out 8 assists, and blocked 3 shots in 44 minutes of playing time. When asked about that (in his post-game press conference), Kobe Bryant said of Gasol’s man-size effort: “ I knew he could perform at a high level… this just ain’t Memphis.”
Kobe’s playing time was limited (37 mins.) due to foul trouble throughout most of the evening. But when the game was on the line in the all-important forth quarter, KB24 once again rose to the occasion. “The Black Mamba” took the Nuggets out of contention, racking up 18 points in the final stanza, including 13 in the final 5:42. He finished with 32 points (13/14 FT), 3 boards, and 2 blocked shots. The Los Angeles Lakers scored 128 total points: Odom pitched in with 17, Walton came in strong to score 16, and Sasha Vujacic contributed with 8 from the bench. NBA Prediction: LAL -7.5 Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 131 | E-mail | Read more... |

The Hornets will try and make it two straight on Tuesday. Chris Paul had 35 points and 10 assists to lead New Orleans to the 104-92 win in game one. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Hornets at Home. "Game 2 is the most important game of the series, because if you win that game you're still in the driver's seat. You've accomplished your goal, which is keep home-court advantage," Scott said. "But if you lose it, now all the pressure's on you, because they're going home with a split; they have two games at home, so the momentum shifts." Here are the NBA betting stats for Tuesday’s game. The Under is 5-2 in the Mavericks last 7 overall. The Over is 5-1 in the Hornets last 6 playoff games as a favorite. The Over is 16-6-2 in the Hornets last 24 games as a home favorite. In a volley of thoroughly entertaining Game 1s in the NBA playoffs, the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns were the pick of a bunch with a double-overtime thriller. These two bitter rivals will try to put on the same show when they meet for Game 2 at the AT&T Center. The first contest went San Antonio's way with a 117-115 victory. BetOnline.com has the San Antonio Spurs -2 point favorites against the Phoenix Suns with the over/under set at 192 points.
The Suns had every chance to win this game, showing they could match the Spurs' physical presence. Amare Stoudamire dropped 33 points to lead the way, while Steve Nash added 25 points and 13 assists for the Suns. But for all of the Suns' efforts to impose themselves physically on the defending champions, Phoenix needs to be a little more cautious in Game 2, as Stoudamire fouled out near the end of the first overtime, while Shaquille O'Neal dealt with foul trouble all game. For the Suns to be successful in Game 2, they need to be more disciplined on the defensive end, and they also need to learn how to close out teams. The Suns had led by as much as 16 points in the third quarter, and when you are up by that much in a place as hostile as San Antonio, you have to make that lead count.
The Spurs know they are fortunate to escape Game 1 with a win, because no one could have ever predicted that Tim Duncan would hit a game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation. It was Duncan's first three of the season, but it could not have come at a better time for the Spurs, who had been outplayed for the majority of the game. Duncan had a game-high 40 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs, who had an enormous 72-46 edge in the paint despite Phoenix's increased physical play.
The Spurs are 2.5-point favorites at home in this contest, but the Suns are not afraid to go into San Antonio, as proven by their wins at the AT&T Center in the regular season, as well as Saturday's performance. However, the Spurs showed the mark of a championship team: the ability to win, even though you are not the best team on the floor that particular night. San Antonio should ratchet up the defense to come away with a Game 2 victory on Tuesday. Get your Free NBA Playoffs Pick in Now!
