Bodog are one of the very few bookies prepared to stick their necks out and open an ante-post book on pool´s forthcoming Mosconi Cup that gets underway on Thursday.
The online layers go 1.40 that the star-studded USA team triumphs over their European counterparts at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The four day event features the two five-man teams battling it out in a Ryder Cup-style series of singles and doubles matches.
Bodog´s pool oddsguru Steve Evans believes that the USA are justified favourites in their own back yard, but it would be foolish to overlook the European raiders.
"History is against the Europeans with them only winning it twice but the USA are no certainties," said Evans.
"The return of reigning World Champion Daryl Peach to the European side will give them confidence which will be so important. He is a real competitor and that is such an advantage in this thrilling matchplay style format that many liken to the Ryder Cup."
Peach conquered all before him at November´s 2007 Philippines World Pool Championship .
Europe, who last claimed the prestigious event in 2002, are rated at 2.90 by Bodoglife.co.uk. Last year´s Mosconi saw a thrilling finale with both teams battling out a 12-12 draw. USA retained the trophy as reigning holders.
Bodog have published a raft of markets on the event with Evans anticipating some punting fireworks on the Top Point Scorer betting .
"Peach is available at 12.0 in the overall top point scorer market which will almost certainly attract attention but I´m very wary of classy market leaders Shane Van Boening and Ralf Souquet," said Evans.
