Sports-Odds.com spoke with two veteran Vegas Odds experts to get the skinny on the SEC rivalry game when the No. 18 ranked Florida Gators (2-0) take on the No. 23 ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday at 6:00 PM EST. The experts are divided on who they think is the best Florida vs Tennessee pick. The game is being played in Neyland Stadium and will be aired on ESPN with the College GameDay crew broadcasting from Knoxville in the morning.
“Coming into the season some felt Florida would challenge Georgia and South Carolina for the SEC East title, but through two games the Gators have been underwhelming,” stated Sports-Odds.com Vegas Odds Expert Matt Foust. “Meanwhile, Tennessee appears as though it may have finally turned the corner under third year coach Derek Dooley. Saturday should prove telling for both teams considering Florida has the last seven in this series.”
The college football odds makers have the Tennessee Volunteers -3 point home favorites against the Florida Gators.
“Keep an eye out for Tennessee to make a statement versus Florida this weekend,” stated Vegas Odds Expert & Doc’s Sports Advisory Board member Jordan Adams from Strike Point Sports (SPS). “I think this is the weekend that people take notice of a Tennessee squad that could upset a few teams this year in the SEC. They need their offensive line to hold up and they need to find a way to run the ball. But Tyler Bray and that passing game are as good as it gets in this league.”
The Gators struggled early but finally took care of Bowling Green 27-14 in Week 1 and then beat Texas A&M 20-17 in the Aggies SEC debut in Week 2 on Kyle Field in College Station. The Vols beat up on North Carolina State 35-21 in Week 1 and manhandled Georgia State winning 51-13 in Week 2. The Florida vs Tennessee spread on the Total is set at OVER/UNDER 48 points.
SPS has been on a run hitting their last eight consecutive wins on plays of 5.0 or higher. Going back to last season they have gone 19-5 with their last 24 football plays rated 5.0 and up. SPS is on a rush of three straight winning football weeks (and 17 of 23) and they want to keep it going. Get $60 in Free CFB Picks from the Doc’s Sports Advisory Board Veteran for a Limited Time.
Foust went on to say: “The Vols are lined as favorite, but something tells me this spread is perception over reality. I like the Gators to win this outright.”
