College Football Odds Week 8

This week’s Top 25 college football action kicks off tonight with a meeting between BYU and No. 14 Boise State in Idaho. The 6-0 Broncos are favored by a touchdown in this evening’s game, but it is a buyer beware situation. The Cougars have won three straight and their three losses (Utah, UCLA and West Virginia) came by a combined seven points.

Boise State is one of 20 top ranked squads taking the field this week and all but five of them are favored according to the latest College Football Odds Week 8 release from Bovada.lv.

No. 24 Navy is getting 2.5 points from AAC West Division rival Memphis, but the line is understandable considering how well the Tigers have played. Memphis is 5-1 on the season and it is seeking vengeance from last season’s 20-45 home loss to the Midshipmen.

Utah, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Ole Miss are the other ranked teams getting points, but the latter three are facing fellow Top 25 squads.

The 17th ranked Razorbacks are facing No. 21 Auburn and the 4-2 Tigers are laying 9.5 points in the divisional battle. No. 23 Ole Miss, which fell to 3-3 with last week’s 30-34 loss at Arkansas, is getting 6.5 points from 4-2 LSU, now 2-0 since firing Les Miles. The 6-0 Aggies are in Tuscaloosa for a clash with top ranked Alabama. The Crimson Tide are looking for their fourth straight win over Texas A&M; they are favored to get it, coming in as an 18 point home favorite.

The rest of the top five is favored by double digits as well. No. 2 Ohio State, after last week’s scare at Wisconsin, is a -20 favorite at Penn State, No. 3 Michigan is lined as a -37 home favorite opposite Illinois and No. 5 Washington is laying 36.5 points at home against Oregon State. No. 4 Clemson is not in action this weekend.
