Manziel is drawing 4/1 odds while Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is a second Heisman pick at 7/1 odds. USC wide receiver Marqise Lee is listed at 9/1 odds and Georgia signal caller Aaron Murray is just behing him at 10/1 odds. Oregon’s De/Anthony Thomas, Alabama’s A.J. McCarron, Miami’s Duke Johnson, South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney, and Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater are all getting 12/1 odds to win college football’s most coveted individual honor.

Johnny Manziel – Texas A&M (4/1): Johnny Manziel came out of nowhere last season to win the Heisman as the redshirt freshman led Texas A&M to a surprising 11-2 record in its first season as a member of the SEC. Manziel threw for 3706 yards and 26 touchdowns (nine interceptions) and he also rushed for 1410 yards (7.0 yards per carry average) and 21 scores. Should he win the Heisman this year, he would become just the second player ever to do so, joining Ohio State great Archie Griffin.

Braxton Miller – Ohio State (7/1): Miller thrived in Urban Meyer’s spread offensive attack, throwing for 2039 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 1271 yards and 13 touchdowns. Miller averaged 8.0 yards per pass and 5.6 yards per carry in leading the Buckeyes to a perfect 12-0 record.

Marqise Lee – USC (9/1): Lee had an unbelievable sophomore season, catching 118 passes for 1721 yards and 14 touchdowns. This year Lee will not be competing for touches with fellow great Robert Woods (76 receptions, 846 yards, 11 touchdowns); that could help or, potentially, hurt his production. Lee will need probably need young receivers Nelson Agholor or Xavier Grimble to step up so he can avoid be the sole focus of opposing secondaries.

Shockingly the Crimson Tide, who have won three of the last four BCS National Championship Games, are favorites to do so again next year. Alabama is listed as a +300 moneyline play in newly released 2014 BCS Odds while Oregon, Ohio State, and LSU are expected to be its biggest challengers, drawing +800, +1000, and +1000 odds, respectively.

Nick Saban won his fourth national title and his third in the last four seasons last night as his Crimson Tide destroyed the previously unbeaten Fighting Irish 42-14. Alabama embarrassed Notre Dame’s top ranked defense, racking up 28 first downs and 529 total yards and it held the ball for over 38 minutes.

The Crimson Tide, which converted eight of their 13 third down attempts, also rushed for 265 yards on 45 carries (5.9 ypc) and it had two backs top the century mark (Eddie Lacy, T.J. Yeldon). Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron turned a terrific performance as well, throwing for 264 yards and four touchdowns (no interceptions).

Alabama’s vaunted defense played a tremendous game too, limiting the Irish to 16 first downs and 302 total yards. Notre Dame rushed for just 32 yards on 19 carries and it held the ball for 21:47.

Saban returned only 11 starters from the 2012 National Championship team, and he may find himself in a similar situation next year. The Tide have a number of junior and senior starters on both sides of the ball, including McCarron and Lacy, that could move to the professional ranks. Bettors should not be deterred, though. Alabama had the top ranked recruiting class a season ago and it has a top five group coming this year. And, of course, Saban has proven he can win the national championship at different locations and with different players.

The highly anticipated game, which features top ranked Notre Dame squaring off against No. 2 Alabama, is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ET on ESPN. The latest BCS National Championship Point Spreads are favoring Alabama as a -10 pick against the spread; the Over/Under is set at 41 points.

Notre Dame vs Alabama Pick (+/-10, Over/Under 41): At 12-02 Notre Dame enters tonight’s game with the nation’s best record, but it is not viewed, at least by the odds makers or college football bettors, as the best team. That distinction falls to its opponent in this evening’s showdown, Alabama. The Crimson Tide do have a loss on their resume, a 29-14 home setback against Texas A&M; however, most feel they played the more difficult schedule being a member of the SEC. Alabama did, indeed, face some tough opponents, including LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and the aforementioned Texas A&M Aggies, but it did enjoy a few more breaks than Notre Dame. Nick Saban’s troops faced a number of middling to poor teams such as Arkansas, Western Kentucky, Florida International, Missouri, Tennessee, Western Carolina, and Auburn. The Fighting Irish, which fielded the nation’s best scoring defense, played only two teams that were not bowl eligible. Notre Dame also played against enough quality opponents for bettors to feel comfortable that it can match-up reasonably well with Alabama. Only one Irish opponent topped the 20 point mark (Pittsburgh), and even it needed three overtime periods to do so. Tonight’s game should feature an in the trenches slug-fest as Notre Dame is one of the few teams that can actually match Alabama’s talent along the lines.

While a vast majority of bettors will look to play the spread, total or money lines when the No.2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (12-1) take on the No. 1 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (12-0) for the National Championship, a small group of savvy professional bettors and number wonks will be analyzing all of the potential 2013 BCS prop bets being offered by the odds makers. See the latest Alabama vs Notre Dame Spread and current BCS Odds.

Some of the most popular prop bets that will be offered are based on the performance of the individual teams performing something specific, like which team will score first. Other proposition wagers that see a ton of action include the type of score that will happen first like a safety, field goal or touchdown. The odds for each of these bets is based on the statistical probability of the outcome, instead of the way a spread is determined which is based on the public’s perception. Get a complete break down of all of the current college football prop bets available now.

Other 2013 BCS prop bets being offered by the sportsbooks are based on the performance of individual players in key positions like quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers. Currently, the odds makers have several wagers available on Alabama Crimson Tide football players including quarterback A.J. McCarron, wide receiver Amari Cooper as well as running backs Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon. The odds makers have also posted proposition bets on various Notre Dame Fighting Irish players including quarterback Everett Golson, wide receiver Tyler Eifert and running backs Cierre Wood and Theo Riddick. Get $50 in Free Football Picks today!

In order to have success with these types of exotic bets, you will need to know the statistical tendencies of each player. Figure out how many yards they throw for, run for and catch for per game over the course of the regular season. Once you have those numbers totaled up, then figure out if it is higher or lower than the amounts the odds makers have posted. If you are correct, you win. Advanced bettors will take into consideration how individual players performed at their position against an opponent that has a similar style defense to get an edge.

Below is a complete list of the college football prop bets available for the BCS National Championship Title Game which kicks off on Monday January 7th at 8:00 PM EST in Sun Life Stadium. The game between the two schools is scheduled for a 1:00pm ET kickoff on Saturday, January 5th at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama; the game will be televised live on ESPN. The latest BBVA Compass Bowl Point Spreads have Ole Miss listed as a -3.5 pick against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 54 points.

Pittsburgh vs Ole Miss Pick (+/-3.5, Over/Under 54 points): Pittsburgh is set to make its third consecutive trip to the Compass Bowl after posting a 6-6 record under first year head coach Paul Chryst. The Panthers knocked off Kentucky 27-10 in the 2010 Compass Bowl, but they fell to SMU 6-28 at Legion Field last year. Pitt was lined as a three point favorite on each occasion. This year the Panthers are catching 3.5 points, making them a tempting play given how they finished the season. Chryst’s troops recovered from a 2-4 start and earned bowl eligibility with a 4-2 closing run that featured double digit wins over conference rivals Temple, Rutgers, and South Florida as well as near upset of No. 1 Notre Dame in South Bend. Ole Miss also finished the regular season with a 6-6 record, improving four games under the direction of new coach Hugh Freeze. The Rebels notched just one win in their last four games, though, as they recovered from losses to Georgia, Vanderbilt, and LSU with a 41-24 beating of in-state rival Mississippi State. Despite Mississippi’s poor finish to the season, most are still high on its chances tomorrow considered how well the team acquitted itself (for the most part) against some pretty stiff competition. Pittsburgh vs Ole Miss Pick: Take Pittsburgh +3.5.

This evening’s battle between the two schools is scheduled for a 8:00pm ET kickoff at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas; it will be broadcast live on FOX. 2013 Cotton Bowl Point Spreads have the Aggies of A&M listed as a -3 pick against the spread favorite and the game total set at a whopping 73 points.

Texas A&M vs Oklahoma Pick (+/-3.5, Over/Under 73): Oklahoma was expected to win the 10 team Big 12 this year, but a late September home loss to Kansas State derailed its conference title hopes. The Sooners overcame that setback, though, winning eight of their last nine games to finish the regular season with a 10-2 record. Per usual, Bob Stoops’ crew relied mostly on its offense, averaging 506.8 yards and 40.3 points per game, but the Sooners were no slouch on defense either. OU limited its opposition, which included a number of potent offensive teams (Kansas State, Baylor, West Virginia, Oklahoma State), to an average of 24.2 points and 380 yards per game. It will face another explosive group in Texas A&M, which ranked fourth in the nation in scoring (44.5 points per game) and third in total offense (552.3 yards per game). The Aggies also have Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel under center. Manziel enjoyed an unbelievable freshman campaign, accounting for 4600 total yards (3419 passing, 1181 rushing) and 43 touchdowns (24 passing, 19 rushing) en route to college football’s most coveted individual honor. Texas A&M’s offensive exploits enabled it to excel in its first season as a member of the SEC; Kevin Sumlin’s squad finished the year with a 10-2 record and it placed third in the vaunted SEC West with a 6-2 conference mark. Despite the Aggies success, Oklahoma will hardly be intimidated by its longtime adversary. Stoops owned A&M in recent seasons, as his Sooners posted an 8-1 record in their last nine meetings with the Aggies. Texas A&M vs Oklahoma Pick: Take the Sooners +3.5.

The game, which features Big 12 champion Kansas State and the fourth ranked Oregon Ducks, will be broadcast live on ESPN. Updated 2013 Fiesta Bowl Point Spreads are favoring Chip Kelly’s Ducks at -8.5 against the spread while this evening’s game total is set at 74 points.

Kansas State vs Oregon Pick (+/-8.5, Over/Under 74 points): The Oregon Ducks enter tonight’s game with Kansas State the owners of a sparkling 11-1 record; however, despite their glowing mark, Chip Kelly’s troops were unable to lock down the PAC-12 title. Oregon suffered a mid-November loss at Stanford that derailed its conference championship aspirations. The Ducks are still a top five team, though, and their offense is among the most productive and explosive in the country. Oregon averaged over 50 points and 550 yards per game and it topped the 60 point mark on three different occasions. Kelly’s up-tempo attack is lead by freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota, who threw for 2511 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 690 yards and four scores. Kansas State, which won the Big 12 with an 8-1 league record and a 11-1 overall mark, also features one of the nation’s top offenses, although its approach is vastly different than Kelly’s break neck methodology. Bill Synder employs a slow, steady, grind it out pace that works nearly perfect under the direction of Heisman finalist Collin Klein. The Wildcats were beyond efficient, averaging 10.1 yards per play, and most of their possessions resulted in points on the scoreboard as evidenced by their 40.7 point per game average. While the Ducks offense closely resembles the Baylor unit that hung 52 points on Kansas State in a 28 point win over the Wildcats, Snyder’s crew is much healthier now. K-State entered its showdown with the Bears a wounded animal as a number of its defensive stars were either playing injured or out due to injury.

This evening’s battle between the Cardinals and Gators is scheduled to kickoff at 8:30pm ET on ESPN. The latest 2013 Sugar Bowl Point Spreads have Florida listed as a -14 pick against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 47 points.

Louisville vs Florida Pick (+/-14, Over/Under 47): Louisville opened its season as one of the favorites to win the Big East title and it did, indeed, secure the conference crown, or its automatic BCS bid anyway, with a 5-2 league record. The Cardinals, after a 9-0 start, closed out the season with a 10-2 record, prompting many to question the legitimacy Charlie Strong’s team. No one is doubting what Strong has under center, though, in sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater is the most prominent player on the Louisville roster as he threw for 3452 yards and 25 touchdowns this season. The Florida native will certainly need one of his stronger efforts of the season in order for the Cardinals to get past the Gators. Will Muschamp’s squad is not the most impressive offensive team in the country, but its defense is top shelf. Florida presently ranks third in the nation in points per game allowed with a 12.9 average and it is yielding just 282.6 yards per contest. The Gators are also fifth in the nation in turnover margin (+1.42 per game) and sixth in opponent third down conversion percentage (28.3 percent). Louisville, which ranks 49th in the country in scoring offense (31 ppg), should feel good if it can total even 20 points this evening. Only three teams reached the 20 point mark against Muschamp’s crew this season and only one team (Florida State) crested that total opposite the Gators. Sugar Bowl Betting Trend: The Gators are 10-0 straight up and 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games as a favorite with a spread between 14 and 17.5 points.

The 2013 Orange Bowl is scheduled to kickoff at 8:30pm ET; it will be broadcast live on ESPN. The latest 2013 Orange Bowl Point Spreads have the Seminoles listed as a -14 pick against the spread favorite and the game total set at 59 points.

Northern Illinois vs Florida State Pick (+/-14, Over/Under 59): Dave Doeren inherited an 11-3 Huskies team when he took over at Northern Illinois last year and he capably guided the team to another 11 win season thanks to a 38-20 GoDaddy.com Bowl win over Arkansas State. Doeren did even more this year, though, as the Huskies enter tonight’s game with a 12-1 record. Of course, Doeren’s success led to his acceptance of the NC State job, which means the Huskies will be guided by former offensive coordinator and new head coach Rod Carey this evening. UNI, which ranks eighth in the nation in scoring (40.8 ppg) and 18th in scoring defense (19 ppga), has rattled off 12 straight victories since its season opening 18-17 loss to Iowa and it owns wins over bowl teams Central Michigan, Ball State, Toledo, and Kent State. Florida State won the ACC’s Atlantic Division with a 7-1 conference record and it improved to 11-2 by knocking off Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship Game. The Seminoles also earned a BCS Bowl berth as a result of their win over the Yellow Jackets and it marked the first time since 2000 FSU crested 10 wins. Jimbo Fisher’s crew is expected to roll to a 12th win tonight, but covering the large number may be another matter. The Seminoles are 7-3 straight up in their last 10 games as a 14 to 17.5 point favorite, but they are just 2-8 opposite the number in those same 10 games.

Big Ten Champion Wisconsin will meet PAC-12 Champ Stanford in the 2013 Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California; the game is scheduled to kickoff at 5:00pm ET on ESPN. The latest 2013 Rose Bowl Point Spreads have the Cardinal listed as a -6 pick against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 47 points.

Wisconsin vs Stanford Pick (+/-6, Over/Under 47): Wisconsin’s 2012 season could be labeled as a surprise within a surprise as its modest regular season success (most people expected the Badgers to excel) caused many to doubt its chances in the Big Ten Championship Game against Nebraska. The Badgers, who finished their regular schedule with a 7-5 record, stunned college football fans and the odds makers alike, though, by pounding the Huskers 70-31 to earn a spot in the Rose Bowl. The program experienced yet another surprise shortly after its thrashing of Nebraska when head coach Bret Bielema accepted the same position at Arkansas. Bielema’s departure left bowl coaching duties in the hands of former head coach and current athletic director, Barry Alvarez. Alvarez, who was 3-0 in three Rose Bowl appearances during his tenure as Wisconsin’s coach, will match wits with two time PAC-12 Coach of the Year, David Shaw. His players will have to contend with a team that went 10-2 in the regular season and beat UCLA to win the conference championship. The Cardinal, who knocked off teams like Oregon and Oregon State en route to the league title, also field the nation’s 13th ranked scoring defense. Despite Stanford owning what appears to be all the advantages, Wisconsin is something of a sleeping giant. The Badgers played down to a number of opponents, but three of their five losses came in overtime and they were outscored by an average of 3.8 points per game in defeat.
