Bodog Battle Finale At Canadian Music Week

by Steve Hastings on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Bodog Music is thrilled to announce the Bodog Battle Canadian Semifinals during Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Ontario. CMW is a proven hotbed of talent, so what better place to showcase Bodog Battle's Canadian finalists? On March 8 at Jeff Healey's Roadhouse, Bodog Battle will lay the stage for 14 of Canada's unknown talents to fight for the right to compete in the world finals this summer.

Bodog Battle has scoured the nation to find 14 of the best unsigned bands in Canada. After months of online voting and several live performances, the 14 bands, whose homes range from coast to coast, are hitting Canada's premiere music event to prove that they are the ones to represent Canada in the world finals this summer.

"Bodog Battle Canada has found some amazing talent," says Bodog Founder Calvin Ayre. "I am proud to give these bands a chance to play the prestigious CMW circuit, and better yet, a chance at a $1 million recording contract with Bodog Music."

The international competition continues to heat up as the thousands of talented bands in Canada, Europe, the U.K. and the U.S. vie for the coveted $1 million recording contract with Bodog Music. The label is home to musical acts Bif Naked, the Wu-Tang Clan, DMX, Neurosonic and The Vincent Black Shadow. The 2007 Bodog Battle saw success for Seattle, WA, rockers Fall From Grace, who are currently in the studio working on a highly anticipated summer release.

The grand finale, to be held in summer 2008, will include one band each from the U.K., Germany, Scandinavia and Canada, as well as one band from each of the four major regions of the U.S. Along with the eight top bands from across the globe, two lucky wild-card bands will join the chase for the $1 million grand prize recording contract with Bodog Music.
