Oscar Odds Favorite Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor: The Academy Awards also better known as the Oscars will be bringing all the stars to the red carpet this Sunday 8 PM EST. Those celebrities include the actors in the running for Best Supporting Actor. You can get all of you current Oscar favorites at BODOG.com.
Woody Harrelson has seemed to have been out of the spotlight until now. He’s hoping to bring home the Oscar in his role in “The Messenger” where he played a military officer struggling with his sobriety as he delivers news of soldier’s deaths to their families. You can get Harrelson 10 to 1 odds at BODOG.com.
Adding to the 10 to 1 odds is Stanley Tucci who played a serial killer who murders his neighbors’ 14-year-old daughter in “Lovely Bones” in which also starred Mark Wahlberg who didn’t get nominated this year. I haven’t seen the movie personally but Tucci may not be taking an Oscar statue home this Academy Awards as this is the only nomination the film has been added to.
Joining the Best Supporting Actor list will be Matt Damon (22 to 1 odds) in the flick “Invictus” which also stars nominated Morgan Freeman. Damon plays a South African rugby team captain who is the unifying force for a divided nation. I heard his performance in this movie was a great one but America will see if his acting was good enough to bring home the Oscar.
Another talked about actor who hopes for that Academy Award is “Inglourious Basterds” Christoph Waltz. He brought an added something in his role of a sinister Nazi officer to the Quentin Tarantino film which also starred Brad Pitt who was not nominated this year.
