Oscars 2010 Precious Favorite for Best Adapted Screenplay The movie that many have been talking about is Precious in which was based on the novel “Push” by Sapphire.  However, the screenplay is Geoffrey S. Fletcher’s adaptation of the 1996 novel.  The title of the production was changes from the original “Push” to “Precious” to avoid any confusion with the 2009 action film with the same name.  You can get Precious at 4 to 1 odds.

Added to the nomination list for Best Adapted Screenplay is An Education written by Nick Hornby and based on the memoir of Lynn Barber.  Along with this nod of great work, the movie also has a Best Picture and Best Actress nomination.

District 9 , written by Neil Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell is a sci-fi thriller and has been added to list of screenplay hopefuls.  Blomkamp had previously directed commercials and short films but he made his directing debut with this production.
