Nobody is more excited that American Idol Season 8 has progressed to its finals stage, with the seating of the top 13 contestants, than entertainment oddsmakers. And with the finalists named, online sports book Bodog has been able to post winning betting odds on who they think has the best chance of winning.
For viewers, it's probably no surprise that Los Angeles native Adam Lambert, who looks like a seasoned professional and sings like it too, is the front runner here in the early going. Bodog at Bodoglife.com lists Lambert as a 2/1 favorite on its American Idol betting board. At 2/1, a $100 bet will pay $200 if Lambert wins.
Bodog oddsmakers also like Danny Gokey of Milwaukee at 3/1 and Memphis native Lil' Rounds at 9/2. Rounding out the top five with the best odds are Allison Iraheta (15/2) and Scott MacIntyre (10/1).
For every favorite there has to be a long-shot. The least favorite of 13 finalists according to oddsmakers is Michael Sarver, the rough neck oil field worker from Jasper, Texas. Bodog lists Sarver as a 50/1 underdog of the group.
