American Idol 2010 Crystal Bowersox Top Week 3 Girls Performance: Tonight brought the ladies back on the American Idol stage in hopes of making it to the Final 12 next week. Things have been getting serious for these contestants as America has been sizing down their American Idol 2010 favorites and getting rid of the rest. You can get all of your current odds on all of your American Idol favorites at BODOG.com.
Crystal Bowerson shined once again on the stage singing Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Good Reason”. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this girl so I’ll tell you again. I love this girl! She’s got that raw natural talent that gives me goose bumps. She’ll definitely be safe for the Final 12 and Simon would agree, “You are one million billion percent that you’re going to be in the Top 12 next week. You are the one to beat…I’m telling you.” Randy also added, “I love that, love you, love that song! That was hot!” You can get this talented singer at 4 to 1 odds at BODOG.com.
The other impressive performance of the night would be Didi Benami (20 to 1 odds) who sang Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon”. In my opinion, I really liked her rendition of a great classic. Kara stated, “One of my favorite moments of the show this season. I have to congratulate you because it was my favorite.” Simone added, “Didi, I would have to agree with Kara. You’ve proved you’re an artist. Randy, I would have to disagree with you but your “wow” moment was this whole performance.”
Now it’s time for the not so good performances and there were a few. Shall I start with the worst? Well okay if you insist. Paige Miles (30 to 1 odds) was hands down the worst tonight with her nervous and shaky performance of “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin. The judges noticed as well with Ellen stating, “That song is supposed to be inspiring and uplifting but it wasn’t.” Simon didn’t sugar coat things by saying, “It was a horrible choice of song. The arrangement was just awful. I call this kind of performances, “peanut performances” where people are in a bar eating peanuts while you’re performing.”
Surprisingly, Katie Stevens (12 to 1 odds) didn’t seem to stay in the safe zone this week but took the judges advice by choosing a more current song. However, she fell flat on Kelly Clarkson’s “Break Away” with an unlikable pitch. Kara stated, “You have a great rating of voice but I don’t think you know who you are yet as an artist. But you can’t deny that you do have that talent. The singing needed to be perfect tonight to stand out and didn’t.” Simon pretty much agreed with Kara, “You haven’t worked out what kind of artist you want to be. You sucked out the energy out of the song and made it kind of gloomy.”
