American Idol 2010 Crystal Bowersox Will Get What She Wants After Solid Week 4: The boys and girls have molded into one night and one American Idol stage but some were better than others. The Rolling Stones were front and center of the contestant’s minds as they sang their best and not so best in front of America. I have to say that my favorites in which include Crystal Bowersox (7 to 4 odds) and Lee Dewyze (13 to 2 odds) made their presence known and there’s no way that they’ll be going home this Wednesday. Crystal sang “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and I love how she sang her own “cool” version of the song. Judge Randy Jackson said, “I don’t think it was your best performance but I love you. Even though it wasn’t my favorite performance, you never disappoint me.” Simon adding in, “You came out here tonight the clear favorite and I think you didn’t choose the right song.” Boo to the judges if you ask me. I believe my girl will be going all the way.
Is it okay to have a crush on someone you’ve never met? Yes! That’s me with Lee Dewyze. I know I’ve said this before but I love this guy and he can serenade me any day, any time. This talented vocalist sang “Beast of Burden” and he made me melt into my boots. Randy agreed by saying, “I thought it was dope! It was one of your better performances.” But Simon thinks Lee can far exceed this performance, “I really like the story of you as a person but you chose a very safe song and a very forgettable song. But you have a great voice. What I hope is that you come back next week and have a moment on that stage.”
Lacey Brown (40 to 1 odds) is a sweet girl but I’m just not sure that she has what it takes in this competition. Ellen stating, “It was a little sleepy for me but I’m a fan of yours.” And Kara adding in, “It was 50/50 for me.” We’ll see if this soft sounding singer will make it to Week 5.
I do have to say I wasn’t especially proud of my boy Andrew Garcia (10 to 1 odds) with his rendition of “Give Me Shelter” but I don’t know if Tim Urban’s reggae version of “Under My Thumb” was great either. I know I haven’t been a big fan of Tim but I still don’t’ think he has what is needed for American Idol. Then again, I’ve been proven wrong before.
The couple that surprised me was Didi Benami (18 to 1 odds) with her very touching recreation of “Play With Fire” and all of the judges seemed to have agreed with great feedback. The other to add to the list is Paige Miles who I thought should have gone home last week. Well, my thoughts have changed somewhat when she sang “Honky Tonk Women” all the while suffering from laryngitis.
Tune in tomorrow night to see who will be the first to get booted off the Top 12 list. You can get all the up to date odds on your favorites at Bodog.com:
