Cyndi Lauper Gets Thrown Under the Bus: Week 2 of Celebrity Apprentice finally showed some true colors of many of the celebrities on both teams. The mission: Teams must build a storefront for Kodak’s new campaign. Get all of you current Celebrity Apprentice odds at SPORTSBOOK.com.
The chosen team leaders where Sinbad for Team RockSolid and Maria Kanellis (+800 odds) for Team Tenacity. Let’s start with the better of the two shall we? Maria showed her attention to detail and really took the initiative to get her team organized even with Cyndi Lauper (+1500 odds) being a distraction. Cyndi proved to her teammates that she wasn’t just unusual but “out there” as well with her comments and stories that didn’t even involve the task at hand. While Maria asked the singer to do the errands outside of the showcase room, Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks (+1500 odds) opted to jump out of the van after Cyndi got into it and stated, “I’d rather get hit by a bus than have to sit five more minutes in this car.”
The women of Team Tenacity had set up the Kodak showroom stage for the kids of Maria’s charity of choice “Make a Wish Foundation” where kids were able to take pictures with a true wrestling championship belt. They later printed up the pictures through Kodak as a mural for the people of New York to see. Those people came in the next day to enjoy a photo op with Cyndi Lauper, their own picture with the championship belt, Summer Sanders (+700 odds) to learn about the Kodak products, and finally to Sharon Osbourne (+150 odds) for a cupcake. Even with four electric outages and the chaos afterwards, the ladies seemed to have come through in the end.
I wish I could say the same of Team RockSolid as Sinbad had no direction or organization for the task that was given. However, the beginning problem for the team seemed to have been from Bret Michaels (+500 odds) who had a hissy fit when Sinbad was not acknowledging him. The rocker thought the cameras were making him out to look like the bad guy and in the end did tasks with Bill Goldberg (+400 odds) outside of the showroom. Back in the showroom, the rest of the teammates thought Sinbad wasn’t giving enough direction and was taking a very lax approach to the given task especially when one of the murals weren’t delivered. “There was a miscommunication between Sinbad and the printer. That doesn’t surprise me. Sinbad ended the conversation with a joke instead of a confirmation,” said Michael Johnson (+800 odds).
Even with the mistake, things worked out for Team RockSolid when it became show time and the guys looked like they had a good concept going for Kodak. The setting profiled all of the qualities the guys had to offer. New Yorkers were able to get a picture taken with celebrity chef Curtis Stone, track star Michael Johnson , baseball player Darryl Strawberry, wrestler Bill Goldberg, comedian Sinbad, and ex governor Rod Blagojevich (who received a few nasty comments). Unfortunately, the fans weren’t able to collect their pictures at the Kodak studio as well as online.
You know who got sent packing if you watched Celebrity Apprentice last night at 9 PM EST but if you didn’t…it was Sinbad who just wasn’t able to deliver to the Kodak execs. However, Maria was enjoying her $20,000 for the “Make a Wish Foundation”.
