American Idol 2010: Bowersox Continues to Rock

American Idol Season 9 Week 6 Final 11 Recap:  The American Idol contestants needed to prove themselves tonight to make it to the Final 10.  Choosing from the “Billboard No. 1 Hits” and mentored by Miley Cyrus , some came through and some sang Week 6 on a sour note.  Go to BODOG.com for all of you current odds on all of you American Idol favorites.

American Idol Season 9 Week 6 Final 11 RecapMy girl Crystal Bowersox came through and shined tonight with her version of Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee”.  I loved it, I loved it, I loved it! Randy agreed by saying, “That’s what it’s called being a star (pointing to Crystal).  I’m so happy now. This is what it’s about.  She’s what it’s about.”  And Simon added, “I wouldn’t change anything.  Up until now we have listened to karaoke.  This is about finding a recording artist.  You took a song and nailed it.”  This girl isn’t going anywhere and make sure to watch next week as she’s hinted that she’ll be losing that guitar of hers to perform her next hit.

Although I love my Lee Dewyze and he did a great performance of The Box Tops’ “The Letter”, it was Aaron Kelly that seemed to have shined with the judges with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.  Simon saying, “There is zero chance that your going to go home.”

I also think Siobhan Magnus is safe with her rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” but I just think she’s overplaying her “screaming” parts just like Adam Lambert from Season 8.  With that said, I’m sure she’ll be making it to the Final 10 who will be going on tour with the American Idol group.

The sour note started and took place with yet again “pitchy” vocalist Paige Miles who sang Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds”.  Even Miley Cyrus thought she would do well if she didn’t get on the pitchy side but….she did.  Randy called her out and said, “That was honestly terrible.  The pitch was all over the place.”  Kara adding in, “Somewhere along the line I think you stopped competing.  It was the worst vocal that I’ve heard from you and possibly the season.”

Another that didn’t impress was Didi Benami when she sang Linda Ronstadt’s “You’re No Good”.  Ellen stated, “I don’t get the song choices tonight.  I don’t think it was the right song choice for you.” And Simon made a point to say, “It was like a musical.  It was the bad part of a musical.  It didn’t sound like it was you.”

Tune in tonight at 9 PM EST to see who America chose to stay and who will be falling just short of fame. You can get all the up to date odds on your favorites at Bodog.com:
