American Idol Season Eight will trot out its remaining eight contestants Tuesday night to compete against each other in hopes of surviving to another week. After four weeks of finals competition, the best have separated from the rest of the pack. Adam Lambert is a consensus favorite among fans, experts and even bookmakers. Online oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com list Lambert as -125 moneyline format favorite on its betting board.
Lambert continues to impress judges week after week with how he turns established tunes into his own. And after 16 years of stage experience, the 24 year old California native knows what strings to pull. Last week Lambert wowed the audience with his version of 'Play That Funky Music'. When on stage, Lambert clearly shows to be the best in the competition.
Just because Lambert is considered the front runner, does not mean he is the only talent in the field of eight. Danny Gokey, a church music director from Milwaukee, Wisc., and Conway, Ark., native Kris Allen are more than holding their own. Sportsbook.com has Gokey No. 2 at +250 odds ($100 bet wins $250) and Allen No. 3 at +500.
Allison Iraheta, the youngest in the group and most talented of the two remaining females surprised many by falling into the bottom three last week. Sportsbook.com lists this hard edged vocalist with +1000. The other lady, Lil Rounds is also listed at +1000 odds.
