American Idol 2010 Big Mike Saved By The Judges: Last night was a wild one on American Idol to say the least. It was the 7th week for eliminations and I couldn’t have been more surprised. You can go to BODOG.com to get all of your current American Idol odds.
Early on in the show, host Ryan Seacrest called the three remaining ladies up to the center of the stage one by one. With millions of Americans tuned into their screens, they all were able to hear that Crystal Bowersox (1 to 1 odds) was safe. Of course wanting to keep viewers in suspense, Ryan finally announced that Katie Stevens and Siobhan Magnus were safe as well.
One of this week’s performances came from Kara Dioguardi’s stars, Jason Derulo who put on a great show on the American Idol stage. Next to perform was Season 9 contestant David Archuleta who sang John Lennon’s “Imagine”. After the performances, the guys were split into two lines on center stage. The safe group consisted of Lee Dewyze (3 to 1 odds), Casey James and most surprisingly, Tim Urban (100 to 1 odds). The shocking bottom three brought in Big Mike Lynche, Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia. The second shocker of the night came into play when Aaron was granted safety for the week. In true American Idol form, they left the two bottom contestants in suspense and Rihanna came in to perform “Rockstar 101”.
In the end, Big Mike Lynche (8 to 1 odds) didn’t get enough of America’s votes to move on to next week. WTF? Even though I am happy that Andrew Garcia (20 to 1 odds) is safe for another week, I truly believe voters were smoking something with these two talented singers being sent to the bottom. Big Mike sang “This Woman’s Work” in hopes that he would be saved by the only “save” vote allowed by the judges and after a beautiful performance – he was. Expect this talented American Idol to be back next week to perform live but because of the save, two AI hopefuls will be sent home next week.
