American Idol 2010 Andrew Garcia & Katie Stevens Sent Home: What a night it was last night for the American Idol contestants. Due to Michael “Big Mike” Lynche’s save in Week 7, two were sent home in Week 8. You can go to BODOG.com to get all of the current odds on your American Idol favorites.
American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest started the night by immediately calling Andrew Garcia, Casey James, and Aaron Kelly up to center stage. He announced what they sang and the comments of the judges from performance night. I hate to say this but one of my favorites, Andrew Garcia was eliminated out of the three.
After Andrew’s elimination, American Idol showed how they like to give back with judge Kara Dioguardi and Season 5 contestant Elliot Yamin traveling to Africa. In addition to helping the team build a boarding school for the youths, they brought awareness to Malaria through mosquitoes and handed out bed nets to the community. Back on the AI stage, Season 7 contestant Brooke White sang a duet of Elvis’ “If I Can Dream” with Season 6 Nashville Star Justin Gaston.
Getting back to business, the bottom row was called to center stage and Crystal Bowersox, Shiobhan Magnus, and Lee Dewyze were announced as safe . It came down to Katie Stevens, Michael Lynche, and Tim Urban in the bottom three and in the end Katie Stevens was the second person to go home in Week 8. An emotional Katie sang her last song on the American Idol stage after her hopes of winning the competition were crushed.
