Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Julie Citro was crowned Miss Delaware in late November 2009. Currently in school, Julie is attending her last year at Wilmington University with a degree in Elementary Education. Pageant’s run in the family as Miss Delaware’s sister Ashley DiLiberto will be competing in the 2010 Miss Teen USA pageant out of the Bahamas.
As most contestants, Julie Citro has had her fair share in humanitarian efforts when she contributed 145 coats to be donated to the Big Brother/Big Sister of Delaware organization in which earned her the Humanitarian Award. A true animal lover, Julie has already rescued several pets over the years but with her new Miss Delaware status she plans of becoming the spokesperson for a local Dog Rescue No-Kill Adoption Center. Adding to her great looks, men out there will be pleased to know that this contestant loves football with her favorite NFL team being the Pittsburgh Steelers.
