Carrie Prejean Retains Miss California Crown Says Donald Trump: Just a few minutes ago, at the Trump Tower in New York City, it was announced that Carrie Prejean would indeed retain her Miss California crown, said the boss, Donald Trump.
Trump, co-owner of the Miss USA pageant, not only allowed Prejean to keep her title, but also commended her for speaking her mind about same-sex marriage during Miss USA.
“We’ve reviewed the pictures carefully. We are in the 21st century and I talked about relevance,” Trump said. “Carrie’s a model … We’ve made a determination that the pictures taken were acceptable, they’re fine, in many cases they’re very lovely pictures and in some cases they’re modeling pictures.”
The 21-year-old Prejean had failed to tell anyone that she has taken some provocative modeling pictures during her teen years. When the left wing media got a hold of them, it became a circus led by gay activist and blogger, Perez Hilton, who has been vigorously on her case since their infamous, Q and A encounter during Miss USA.
Prejean, who has also been in the tabloids for an alleged romance with swimmer Michael Phelps, feels relieved that someone believes in her. Moments after Trump made the announcement, Prejean thanked the boss.
“I would just like to thank Mr Trump for believing in me and allowing me to continue as Miss California USA,” she said. “Most importantly I would like to thank God for testing me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs. I answered my question honestly from my heart.” To other contestants, she said, “Never, ever compromise your believes in the pursuit of his or her own goals.”
