At 6’2”, Katie obviously excelled in basketball but she just might be a natural after winning her first ever beauty pageant. She prepped herself by getting her family involved to ask her possible interview questions to organizing which outfits she would wear but Katie had to prep herself on how to walk in high heels in which she admits was a task.
After college, Katie Whittier actually was good enough to go pro and joined a league in Switzerland. Although Miss Maine loves basketball, she real passion is the Whittier House. Her parents set up the group home that serves people with disabilities with two locations in New Gloucester. Katie hopes to bring more attention to what her parents have started now that she is Miss Maine but also bring in the 2010 Miss USA title.
