+1000 odds Belinda Wright recently had an awful tragedy happen in her immediate family while she was in Las Vegas preparing for the upcoming Miss USA pageant this Sunday. Miss Nebraska’s dad was killed on May 7th in a farm accident when his John Deere skid steer ran into and pinned him killing her dad instantly. Belinda left Vegas immediately to be with her family but has decided that she will return to compete in the 2010 Miss USA competition.

"I'm dedicating the entire event to my father,” Belinda Wright stated after her father’s death. “He was so proud and so excited to go watch."

21-year-old Belinda Wright is a senior at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where she’s majoring in Textile Design and Mass Communications/Advertising. She involves herself with UN’s newspaper where she writes a mini magazine “This Season”. An ultimate career goal of Belinda’s is to work internationally in the public relations department of a major fashion magazine after graduate school. As Miss Nebraska, Belinda plans on helping young people focus on the importance of education and believing in themselves, encouraging women to succeed in reaching their aspirations as well as her continuation of volunteering within the community.
