+1200 odds Kelsey Moore had no plans of competing for the Miss Texas pageant but after chose to entered after a professional sports agent of hers made the recommendation and received the title after the first try. Her goals is to continue to play professional volleyball for a couple of years and then to move on to become a political newscaster. Kelsey is currently attending University of Texas at El Paso on a full-ride volleyball scholarship and will be majoring in Electronic Media.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to play volleyball professionally, and when I’m done with volleyball I want to pursue a career as a political reporter, Kelsey Moore said. ”A friend of the family that’s in the sports and entertainment business suggested I start getting used to public speaking and also get my name out there. That’s how this came about, I signed up for the Miss El Paso pageant for the experience.”
Using her skills in volleyball, Miss Texas Kelsey Moore has volunteered her time to volleyball camps but also puts her time to a high school tutoring program, working with the Boys and Girls club , making food bags for the needy, and involving herself with many other organizations and churches.
"The pageant world is something very different that even an ordinary person doesn’t understand. It's as new of an experience for me," continued to say on how her volleyball team has taken the news and coverage of the Miss USA pageant. “My teammates were very supportive when I won Miss El Paso, and they were shocked when I won Miss Texas USA. I know they were a bit worried, but I reassured them that I’m here 100% for the team. While this is great for me, I’m very focused on doing my part to make sure that we are successful as a team."
