Will he, won't he? England manager Fabio Capello´s decision to omit international football star David Beckham from England's match against Switzerland has led to serious questions as to whether the LA Galaxy star will ever feature for his country again. Betway.com has England listed at 11 to 1 odds to win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It didn't look like England missed him on Wednesday as Fabio Capello's first game in command of England got off to a flier with a 2-1 win against the Swiss. Jermaine Jenas and Shaun Wright-Phillips scored the all important goals to hand England the perfect start in their quest to win the 2010 World Cup.
"I believe in order to play for England you need to be a great player but you need to be playing well as well," stated Capello. "At first players have to have the right quality, then they have to be fit and in good form." Capello famously gave David Beckham a rough ride when he was his manager at Real Madrid and it looks like Becks could again be on the receiving end of some tough decisions by the Italian. Capello is well know for his strict discipline and has already banned the players from using mobile phones when on England duty.
Capello has also banned the players from calling each other by their "nicknames", preferring instead to call them by their surnames.
