UK police have said that anti-Semitic death threats were sent to Chelsea manager Avram Grant in a package containing an unamed powder. Bookies Betway.com have some superb football betting odds. Chelsea's training ground in Surrey was fenced off after a Chelsea staff member opened the package.
The message addressed to Grant said the powder was lethal and included the words: "You are a back-stabbing Jewish b******. When you open this letter you will die a very slow and painful death." It has been said that death threats of a sexual nature have been sent to Grant's wife, Tzofit, who is a TV personality in the couple's native country of Israel. "A white powder contained within the package was analysed by specialists from Surrey Fire Service and was determined to be a harmless substance. Detectives are continuing investigations to identify the source of the package." But the idiots who sent the pckage didn´t seem to realise that Grant and Chelsea were in Athens prior to their their Champions League draw with Olympiacos. Chelsea have refused to comment any further on the matter.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: "We were called to Chelsea's training ground at Cobham at 12.15pm (on Tuesday) after they received a suspicious package.
