David Beckham, the British soccer star and current member of the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, will remain on loan to AC Milan until the Italian League finishes its season, according to sources. The original loan agreement between the Galaxy and AC Milan had Beckham returning to Los Angeles on March 9.
It is no secret that Beckham wants to play for England in the 2010 World Cup. With his remaining in Europe he will be much more visible to England coach Fabio Capello.
It is expected Beckham will return to Los Angeles in mid-July for the remainder of the MLS season then return to AC Milan in January. Beckham has an opt-out clause from his Galaxy contract he can impose next January.
AC Milan has struggled recently losing two crucial games to rival Inter Milan and Sampdoria almost eliminating the club from its Series-A title hopes. AC Milan's struggles are blamed on injuries however the slide has Coach Carlo Ancelotti's future in doubt.
