Newcastle United will try for their fourth straight win as they travel to Portsmouth on Saturday. Newcastle is coming off wins against Fulham, Tottenham and Reading. Portsmouth is trying to qualify for next season’s UEFA Cup and now has two chances as they could do so by winning the FA Cup in next month’s final against Cardiff City or they could catch Everton who they trail by four points for fifth place in the Premier League. Portsmouth is tough at home as they have only lost twice in 14 league games this season. Check out the current line for the Newcastle United v Portsmouth Premier League game at SBG Global.
Portsmouth’s Niko Kranjcar said that his team’s excellent play of late should not be a surprise. "Some people may have thought our Premier League season was over but I think reaching the FA Cup final has taken all the pressure off us in the league."

Manager Harry Redknapp is also in good spirits saying, "It's a great season no matter what happens but we'd love to win the FA Cup and finish fifth. Fantastic." Portsmouth definitely has a chance to catch Everton, especially if they get a win against Newcastle on Saturday. "We've got enough games to go to get the points we need for fifth place and we are certainly not entirely focused on the FA Cup, even though it is fantastic to be there.” Defender Slyvain Distin said, “The race is now on with Everton to see who can claim fifth in the league, a position that would mean European football next year.”
Soccer Betting at SBG Global. Newcastle's recent play has moved them well clear of the relegation zone and now they are looking for a top-half finish under Kevin Keegan. Missing the game will be Emre who has a sprained ankle. Shay Given is still out with a groin injury so Steve Harper will again be in goal. Steven Taylor could be recalled for the game and James Milner is questionable with a foot injury. Jermain Defoe is expected to return to the starting line-up for Portsmouth.
Last year Portsmouth beat Newcastle 2-1 at Fratton Park as Benjani and Matt Taylor scored. Emre scored the only goal in that game for Newcastle. The previous three games at Portsmouth between the two teams ended in draws and all three games went under the total.
