The quarterfinals of the Soccer Betting Copa Libertadores begin with defending champion Boca Juniors hosting Atlas of Mexico.  The other quarterfinal on Wednesday has three-time champ Sao Paulo taking on Fluminense.  Thursday it is Mexico’s America hosting Santos of Brazil and Argentina's San Lorenzo taking on Liga de Quito of Ecuador. Boca Juniors and Atlas have already played twice in the group stage with the teams splitting the two games. Fluminense had the top record in the group stage among all the teams. Sao Paulo was able to make the quarterfinals by defeating Uruguay's Nacional, while Fluminense took out Colombia's Atletico Nacional.   The key player in the match is likely to be Sao Paulo striker Adriano who is on loan from Inter Milan. "He's an expert header. We have to be alert when the ball is crossed into the penalty area so we won't be surprised," Fluminense defender Roger said. Sao Paulo will be trying to win their fourth Copa Libertadores title.

The quarterfinal match between America and Santos will have the surprising America squad facing a Santos team that has rolled into the quarterfinals.  Santos has won their last two matches by identical 2-0 scores. Santos has not won the Copa Libertadores since 1963 when Pele was on the squad. America was just able to get into the quarters by winning 3-0 against Flamengo to win 5-4 on aggregate after losing the first match 4-2.

The match between San Lorenzo and Liga de Quito will have teams that finished second in their groups.  San Lorenzo was able to overcome a two goal deficit against River Plate in the second leg playing with only 9 players.
Liga de Quito defeated Argentina's Estudiantes 3-2 on aggregate. "We have had success so far," Liga de Quito captain Patricio Urrutia said. "We need to hope it continues this way."
