David Villa is Questionable for Spain in EURO 2008 Final: The SFF (Spanish Football Federation) hasn’t given up yet on the chance for Spanish striker David Villa to play on this EURO 2008 Cup Final, against football juggernaut Germany. David Villa is very valuable for the Spanish side, as he is this tournaments top scorer with 4 goals. This EURO 2008 Finals fixture is scheduled to take place Sunday June 29th 2008 from Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, Austria and can be seen on ABC Sports. Immediately following the match, Villa felt it would be impossible for his injury to heal before Sunday’s final. Nevertheless, he didn’t want to make any final decisions before undergoing hospital tests: "We will make another statement when we have spoken to a doctor and have the results." The Spaniard was forced to come out of Thursday’s match only after 34 minutes of play, when he hurt himself taking a free kick. An emotional Villa explained his state of mind to the media, and his understanding on the matter: "I'm a little sad that I won't be there to take part but it's better that a team-mate who is fit plays instead of me, particularly as my injury has left me limping quite badly… now I have to enjoy the show from outside. To play on Sunday would be a lottery. I would do it even if I had to play on one leg but this is a team - there are other players who will do better 100% than one who is injured. Villa added: "At the start I was really upset because I knew it was going to be very difficult to play in the final if we got there. I just want to enjoy Sunday and celebrate winning the European Championship with everyone else. This is an achievement for the whole squad and we want to take the glory on Sunday." After the injury, Cesc Fabregas came in and gave Spain some very valuable minutes against Russia, by replaced David Villa. Fabregas will likely start in his place, if it is finally determined that Villa is unfit to go.
