Euro 2008 Final Xavi Hernandez Creus Believes Spain is Unstoppble: the war of words leading up to the anticipated meeting between these two sides for the 2008 European Cup Championship continued Saturday. This time, Xavi Hernandez Creus of Spain fires back to comments made by German players Friday.

According to Spains’s goal-scorer Xavi, whenever Spain plays at their best: “No one can stop us”. Xavi also took it upon himself to reply to comments made by German players this week, regarding Spain’s inexperience in these types of situations:

“None of us had the experience of playing in a European semi-final… on Sunday we have another chance to make history.”

Spain, who has failed to make it to a final in almost two and a half decades, will go against an experienced German side, which currently holds the all-time record for most championships won (3), and most final appearances (6).

In Spain’s history, the only championship they’ve ever won dates all the way back to the 1964 European Championships in Madrid. Spain has been branded the game's biggest underachievers on the international stage ever, and the only way for them to change that, is to beat Germany come Sunday’s Euro 2008 Final.

Spain will have to accomplish this feat without the tournament’s leading goal-scorer (4), David Villa, who has been ruled out of the Euro 2008 final with a muscular injury. Villa got hurt in the first half against Russia, during a free kick.

Spanish coach, Luis Aragones, and his team will certainly miss Villa’s prescense on the field Sunday: “It's a pity that Villa can't play in the final because he has been a crucial player for us withhis goals… now I hope we can lift the cup for him,” said Xabi Alonso of Spain.
